Courageous Strides

Veterans in this program are taught how to engage with horses and utilize horsemanship techniques in their relationships and day-to-day activities.

This program for Veterans teaches participants how to connect with and work with horses on the ground and apply horsemanship principles to relationships and everyday life. It is a great opportunity for individuals returning to civilian life experiencing stress with adjustments or uncertainty.

Lessons Include:

  • Getting grounded in new spaces
  • Improving communication skills
  • Active listening and boundary-setting skills
  • Understanding human and horse needs and values
  • Living mindfully
  • Coping with stressful situations, understanding Fight, Flight, Freeze
  • Handling threats to safety, etc.

This is an eight-week program. Cost is $40 per session but full scholarships are available to Veterans. Registration is ongoing. Facilitated by Equine Specialist. Email [email protected] for availability and scheduling details.
